Liège Station, an architectural masterpiece, faced a challenging issue: ensuring the clarity of announcements in a complex acoustic environment. The solution required more than just improving sound quality—it needed to seamlessly integrate into the station’s overall design.
In collaboration with APG and Active Audio, we achieved a groundbreaking project. Using horizontal and vertical beamsteering systems, precise sound delivery was made possible without disruptive reflections or echoes. Even the elevator domes were modified to house the APG UC206N units, while Active Audio SA180S speakers were strategically placed on information boards. Thanks to their precision beamsteering, obstacles were avoided, ensuring clear and focused sound.
The audio distribution system utilizes the modern AES67-Dante protocol, guaranteeing reliable and flexible signal transmission.
Project Specifications:
40 x Unilin Compact UC206N
20 x StepArray SA180S
10 x Ray-On B70TC
15 x Quattrocanali 2404 DSP + Dante
This solution has made Liège Station not only an architectural icon but also a showcase of cutting-edge audio engineering. A project where innovation and aesthetics go hand in hand.
